Beacon Foundation

The Beacon Foundation, established in 1988 in Tasmania, has grown to become a national not for profit organisation, operating in all Australian states and territories. This year is Beacon Foundation’s 30th anniversary.

Our vision is to reach, inspire and connect Australia’s future workforce.

We believe every young person has the right to hope, a job, financial opportunity and the sense of personal success this provides them. We work with schools, businesses and communities to help bring relevance to the curriculum, and inspire young people to think about careers and experience the workplace, long before they leave school. This helps school retention rates and teaches real-life skills, preparing them for the workplace.

In 2017 we inspired more than 19 thousand students to think about their futures; reached 145 schools across the country, mainly in less advantaged areas; we connected more than four thousand industry and business volunteers to students and schools, and delivered nearly one thousand activities across our suite of programs.

Our work is far from over. We know the workforce is changing, and helping young people get ready for the world of work is still essential.

Be part of Beacon Foundation’s Tour de Office and help us deliver our work readiness programs to more young Australians.
